On Tuesday, the House Judiciary Non-Civil Committee heard testimony
which convinced them to postpone a final vote on SB 315 until Thursday,
March 22nd, 10:00 a.m. Several reasonable amendments were offered, but
there was still resistance from the majority party to adopting any of them.

SB 315 is expected to pass in committee on Thursday, March 22, 10:00
a.m., but we don't yet know with what amendments. Some very reasonable
amendments were offered in the Tuesday meeting, but the majority in the
committee has been obstinate about sticking with their original wording.

The opportunity for testimony has passed, but we can still have polite,
quiet verbal input. The rules are simple, if the committee supports
individual liberties and responsible security research, hold up a green
card. If not, hold up a red card. (Let your conscience be your guide!)
This is the most we can do to continue to comment on our position in
committee, and not get escorted out. So please, pack the house, y'all.

10 a.m., Thursday, March 22nd, Coverdell Legislative Office Building,
room 406, 4th floor. There is a security checkpoint; leave weapons at
home. Please wear business attire. We will have colored cards
available for your use.
