Discussion:
[ale] using bluefish editor

I recently discovered the bluefish ext editor. I've been using gedit for
years but it has some issues with the orca screen reader. One thing I
cannot figure out in bluefish is how to switch between editor buffers.
If I open two (or more) text files, bluefish appears to open them in
different "projects". And then the shortcut keys to switch between
documents do not work. In fact, bluefish says each document is "one of
one". I can *close* a document and that gets me back to the other
document. But I don't want to do that.

PS: Any suggestions on other gedit replacements would be appreciated
especially if you know about orca & accessibility.

Alt 1 , alt 2 ?

I've not used bluefish in years. I'll crank up a copy and see how to switch panes.

I know this is an old thread, but visual studio code is great for when I do
a long session of Ansible work (nice YAML plugin) and I want lots of tabs
for the role files, syntax highlighting and source code management
interaction. Largely open sourced, especially vscode [1], runs on my
x86-64 rpm based distro, and it has Vim emulation. Most everyday jobs are
just easier with Vim than firing up the visual studio code app. I'll have
to try it for more html.
