Most of us should be more concerned regarding Microsoft “Windows” hacks than about Google “doors” hacks. :-)

For me, the most interesting part of the story was that David Tomaschik
was an ALE member for many years while at KSU and gave a number of
presentations to ALE-NW.

He's still active, when in town, with the local DC404 group.

As for computerized doors, I wouldn't trust them for many reasons, but
I'm not very trusting of most technology when it comes to security.

David's name was what prompted my interest.

All security is technology. Where do you draw the line, computers?

I don't trust computers to be reliable, but that's not limited to
security. But I trust my firearm not to jam when fired.

Are computers inherently less reliable? or is the manufacturing and QA
process inferior? I'm thinking maybe a combination of both.

I worked in the Atlanta data center. The doors were often in maintenance.
Once a guy got stuck in a secured area and needed to go to the restroom and
security would not let him out. And the security staff was mad that he
reported them for it!

Sincerely,
